Matthew Lahair, DMD

Pediatric Dentist & Partner

Dr. Matthew Lahair is a Shrewsbury native who attended St. Peter-Marian High School where he played ice hockey. He graduated from St. Anselm College with a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) and majored in Biology.  He went on to receive his dental degree (D.M.D.) from the Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University. Following dental school he completed a two year residency program at Indiana University working at Riley Children’s Hospital and received his certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and earned his masters degree a Master of Science in Dentistry (M.S.D.).  

He is a Board Certified (2008) pediatric dentist, and he is a member of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (MAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), and Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS). Dr. Lahair has been working in private practice since July of 2007.  He opened his dental practice, in partnership with Dr. Gallagher, in Worcester, MA in September of 2009.  
He and his wife, Melissa, currently live in Hopkinton, MA and have three wonderful children their eldest daughter Anna and her younger twin siblings Natalie and Austin.  


Patrick McGary, DMD

Pediatric Dentist & Partner

Dr. Patrick McGary graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from the State University of New York at Purchase. After college, Dr. McGary attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. Following dental school, Dr. McGary stayed at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for an additional three years where he completed two post-graduate residency-training programs to receive his certificates in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. McGary is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), the Worcester District Dental Society, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD).

Dr. McGary and his wife have three wonderful boys. He enjoys exercise, traveling, food, music and spending time with his family.


Anna Ross, DMD

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Anna Ross is a native of Worcester, MA.  She is a life-long patient of Dr. Gallagher and can proudly say her experience as a patient inspired her to pursue dentistry!

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology from Boston College,  is a very proud Eagle and an intense SuperFan.

Dr. Anna went on to study at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society.

Following dental school, Dr. Anna completed a one year General Practice Residency at Rhode Island Hospital and then an additional two years of training in pediatric dentistry at the NYU-Lutheran Pediatric Dentistry Specialty Program in Providence, RI where she served as chief resident in her second year.
She is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. Dr. Anna is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Anna’s outside interests include exercise, cooking and baking, and spending time with her family.  


Paul Shamirian, DMD

Orthodontist

Dr. Paul Shamirian was born and raised in Cranston, Rhode Island. He attended Brown University where he earned a Bachelor of Science (Sc.B.) degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he graduated cum laude and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honors Society and the Honos Civicus Society for contributions to community service. He stayed at Tufts for an additional two years to receive his specialty certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. 

Dr. Shamirian is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO). He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, and Northeast Society of Orthodontists.

In his free time he loves playing tennis, watching Boston sports, and spending time with his family and friends.


Alexandra Penta, DMD

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Alexandra Penta has been drawn to caring and advocating for children since she was young herself, and is so excited and grateful for the opportunity to bring that passion to life as a pediatric dentist!

Dr. Allie grew up in Belmont, MA and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College where she majored in Mathematics, minored in Art, and competed in the NESCAC as a four-year member of the Women’s Soccer Team.

She then went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2021. Upon graduation, Dr. Allie was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Honos Civicus Society for contributions to community service, and the Robert R. Andrews Honor Society for the Promotion of Dental Research. She was also awarded the Jack and Anne Rubin Endowed Senior Prize Fund in Pediatric Dentistry, and was honored to receive several other academic and extracurricular awards while in dental school. As someone who is driven by giving back to her community, throughout her tenure at Tufts Dr. Allie was heavily involved in mission-driven organizations, namely leading and serving on the executive boards for the Tufts chapters of the American Student Dental Association (ASDA), American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), and Give Kids a Smile. Desiring to positively impact the wider Boston community, she also spent several years volunteering for the local program Minds Matter Boston as a mentor and Associate Board member outside of dental school.

Dr. Allie completed her post-graduate training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA where received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. During her time in residency, she developed and carried out a research project focused on the relationship between lifestyle factors, Early Childhood Caries development, and extended breastfeeding, and helped to develop curriculum for a medical residency program located in Vietnam in conjunction with the Penn Perlman School of Medicine. She is currently Board Eligible with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and American Dental Association (ADA).

Dr. Allie strives to foster a warm and empowering environment in each of her visits with children and their families, and is committed to optimizing her patients’ oral and overall health. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Allie loves being active (indoor cycling, Pilates/yoga, walking), learning about holistic health and wellness, spending time in nature, traveling, and nurturing her relationships with friends and family. 


Ted Gallagher, DMD

Pediatric Dentist - Retired Partner

Dr. Ted Gallagher was born and raised in Worcester. After South High School, he received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University. He graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed his internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston.

A faculty member at the Harvard/Children’s Hospital Program, he is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts/Memorial Dental General Practice Residency. He and his wife, Jodi have 2 married children and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Ted, a 30 year member of the Greendale Y, lives close enough to the office to run home from work.
